Questions You Should Ask Yourself Before a New Website
Design Tips

A new website is an investment.
Done well, it becomes a powerful tool that attracts clients, builds trust, and generates revenue. Done without clear thinking, it turns into a pretty design that does not move the needle.
Here are the questions I ask clients at Hustle and Bustle Creative before we even start the design process. They are simple, but the answers change everything.
1. What is the main job of this website?
Every site needs a clear purpose. Do you want leads, sales, bookings, or to showcase your portfolio? If you cannot answer this, your site will end up doing nothing well.
2. Who is this site speaking to?
Think about your ideal visitor. Are they CEOs, busy parents, or small business owners? The clearer you are about who they are, the easier it is to design a site that speaks to them.
3. What is wrong with my current site?
If you already have a website, look at it with a critical eye. Is it too slow? Hard to update? Out of date visually? Knowing what is broken helps make sure the same issues are not carried into the new build.
4. What content do I have ready?
Logos, brand guidelines, photos, copy, and videos all matter. Gather what you already have and make note of what still needs to be created. This saves time and avoids frustration once the design starts.
5. How do I want visitors to feel?
Your website is often the first interaction someone has with your brand. Decide how you want them to feel. Professional? Friendly? Bold? Calm? That feeling should flow through design, copy, and imagery.
6. What should visitors do next?
Every page needs a clear action. Book a call. Buy now. Join the list. Without clear direction, visitors just scroll and leave.
7. What is my budget and timeline?
Websites come in different shapes and sizes. Be clear on what you are willing to invest and when you need it done. This sets realistic expectations for everyone involved.
8. How will I know if it works?
A new site is not just about looks. It is about results. Decide upfront how you will measure success, whether that is more inquiries, higher sales, or increased bookings.
Final Thoughts
These questions are the foundation of every successful website project we build. They make sure the final product is not just pretty but purposeful. If you are considering a new website, start here. Once you have your answers, you will be ready to create something that truly works for your business.
